New (14 May): To our knowledge, this is the first time the Sea N Air Woman's and Men's Golf Clubs have joined forces for a mutual tournament. If this isn't the first time, we do know there hasn't been a mixed tournament like this within the last decade.

The goal and purpose of our efforts for this first outing is to get maximum mixing of the two clubs throughout the pairings, thus the blind draw. We don't want husbands and wives playing together this time and we're not supporting selected foursomes playing together. We want to mix it up as much as possible and get to know each other.

We do want to do this again and we are open for ideas to make this a better event.

Changes can be expected. The pairings, tee times and rules at game time take precedence over these posted on the website. Please show up at least fourty-five minutes before your scheduled tee time.

RULES

TEAMS: Four person teams, blind draw. Players will first be divided into four handicap flights; A, B, C & D (flighted by 1 May Indices).  After flighting the players into four groups, the Tournament Chair will direct the computer to divide the entire field of players into balanced foursomes with near-equal team handicaps and attempt a balance of male and female players throughout the teams.

HANDICAP: Each player will play to 100% of his handicap based on the 1 May Index. The Team HCP shall be the sum of the partners' handicaps. Maximum Index for men is 36.0 and the maximum Index for women is 99.0. Men 70 years or over and/or men with handicaps over 25 may choose to play from the forward tees (Red/Gold) with a handicap reduction of four strokes from their White tee HCP.

Format:

• Each player will play his own ball throughout the entire round.
  
• Record GROSS score, hole by hole, for each team member.
  
• ALL putts must be holed out--No gimmies! This will be scored as a Tournament round.
• No practice putting.
  
• Handicap strokes apply hole by hole.
• On each hole, a predetermined number of the lower scores is used.
• On the first hole, the lowest NET score among the four players counts as the Team Score. On the second hole, the two lowest NET scores become the Team Score. On the third hole, the three lowest NET scores become the Team Score. On the fourth hole, it's back to the one lowest NET score, and so on throughout the round.
  
• Teams without four players will record the GROSS scores of the teammates present and compute the NET scoring in the clubhouse after getting a blind draw from the Tournament Committee.

Teeing positions: Women players shall tee off from the Red Tees and the men players shall hit from the White Tees. Men 70 years or over and/or men with handicaps over 25 may play from the forward tees (Red/Gold) with a handicap reduction of four strokes from their White tee HCP.

Substitutes: If a team is missing a player, the Tournament Committee, at the end of the round, will make a blind draw selection of one player, from same flight as missing player, from scorecards of the entire field.

Scoring:

• Record GROSS score, hole by hole, for each team member.
• For each hole, circle and record the the sum of the lowest NET score(s), as required above, used for each hole.
• Record the "Team NET Score" for each hole at the bottom of the scorecard.
• Total the "Team NET Score" for the round. This is the Final Team NET Score.
• Team with the lowest Final Team NET Score wins.
  
• Score cards shall be signed/attested by each player on the team.
• Ties will be broken by matching score cards using the best Team NET Score beginning with the first hole and continuing hole-by-hole until the tie is broken.

Special

• Practice Putt(s) / Shot(s) are prohibited during the round.
• ALL putts must be holed out--No gimmies! No practice putting.
• "Closest to the Pin" will be awarded on four of the five par three holes. The payout shall be determined by the "buy-in."
• Tournament Chairman will select blind draws for those teams without a complete team.
• Ties will be broken by matching score cards using the Team NET Score hole-by-hole beginning with the first hole.
• If you "pick-up" (for speed-of-play) and don't complete the hole, for posting purposes, record a net par for that hole.
• SGA rules supplemented by local rules apply.
  
• Post your own score.
